    Alia Nurmohamed is a doctoral student in Social & Cultural Analysis in the Department of Sociology & Anthropology at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. Her research focuses on the management of flexible work arrangements in organizations and the corresponding gendered experiences of work-life balance. Prior to joining Concordia University, Alia worked for 10 years in real estate private equity and consulting. She holds a B.Com in Finance from McGill University, an MBA from the University of Warwick, and a B.A. in Sociology from Concordia University. Her work has been published in Economy and Society.

    Kai Demott

    Kai DeMott is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Accountancy. He joined the John Molson School of Business at Concordia University in 2022 after receiving his doctoral degree at the Stockholm School of Economics in Sweden, where he previously completed his MSc in Accounting and Financial Management. He also holds a BSc in Business Administration from the Frankfurt School Finance and Management, Germany. His research projects focus on interdisciplinary accounting research using qualitative methods and adopting the perspective of accounting as a social and institutional practice. He also has many years of teaching experience on various topics in accounting, and has been involved in courses/programs on the undergraduate- and graduate-level, as well as in Executive Education. Before entering academia, Kai worked in the banking industry.

    Christina Gattuso

    Christina is currently in her second year of the MSc. Management program at Concordia’s John Molson School of Business. She is in the process of completing her master’s thesis which will examine career decision making of women in top management positions. Christina is also a member of the Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines agréés (CRHA) and prior to joining the MSc program, she had a career in Human Resources where she worked closely with leadership to provide strategic people solutions across all HR areas. Throughout her professional experience, she grew increasingly curious about the gender gap in top management which has fueled her passion for researching the topic today. Christina received both her Bachelor of Arts Degree (Political Science) and Graduate Diploma in Human Resources Management from McGill University.

    Claudine Mangen, Ph.D., is the founder of the Better Work Lab. She is a Full Professor at Concordia University in Montreal, where she holds the RBC Professorship in Responsible Organizations. Her research focuses on organizations, governance, and employees. More recently, her work has focussed on how employees experience gender inequalities and how organizations can overcome such inequalities, including through their governance. Her work has been published in leading academic journals, such as the Journal of Accounting & Economics, Critical Perspectives on Accounting, and Human Relations, and in the media, including The Conversation. She is the lead researcher on the research program “Disruptive Dames? The process of disruption underlying women’s transition into organizational leadership,” funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. This program analyzes the process underlying the disruption of gender inequalities in the leadership of for-profit organizations in Canada. She also has a blog, at www.claudinemangen.com
